Link between gluteus maximus and pelvic floor muscles found...

Some interesting research shedding light on the involuntary connection between activation of your gluteus maximus (the 'big muscle of the bum') and your pelvic floor muscles.

A lot of time and effort goes into re-training pelvic floor muscles, especially in women, and especially post-partum, after trauma, and as we age. 

We've noted over the years that working on low back fitness, which we know results in stronger and more bulky toned gluteus maximus muscles, seems to help improve pelvic floor control, even without specific pelvic exercises per se.

This may well be the explanation!
