Bear in mind that the various roles of your large bowel bacterial ‘eco-system’ include helping regulate the re-absorption of water from your large bowel back into your blood stream.

It is not surprising that diarrhoea is a common consequence of disruption to your large bowel bacterial environment from anti-biotics.

This kind of implies that the other important roles of your bacterial eco-system are likely being disrupted too!

Worth bearing in mind if you have to take these medications for any reason - especially for your kids.

An extra bit of advice - if you are having your hair done with your head tilted backwards, just keep some tension by bringing your chin down towards your chest. Even a little bit of effort there will protect the neck, whereas letting the chin be pushed upwards is more dangerous.

Inflammation is a naturally occurring response to tissue damage and to infection (from viruses, bacteria etc.).

Healthy people produce appropriate inflammatory responses, and resolve or control them (healing) properly.

A wide variety of health problems ranging from headaches, depression, gut problems, spinal problems, arthritis and so on, appear to be related to the improper control and regulation (dis-regulation) of inflammatory processes. For an example of the possible link between Parkinson’s disease and inflammation, see this.

In other words, the cause and effect works from sleep to weight.

For example, the following piece of research examines the link between shift work and weight …

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2012/08/120829195119.htm?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+sciencedaily%2Fmind_brain+%28ScienceDaily%3A+Mind+%26+Brain+News%29

But we know this can work in reverse too. For example, you are overweight and thus more likely to snore, which leads to poorer sleep (especially because partners tend to dig you in the ribs!).

Moral of the story? Sleep is precious - do whatever you can to sleep well and at regular hours. Especially, don’t led growing kids vary their sleep times!
